The course is designed to prepare accelerated BSN students for basic medical surgical professional nursing care to adults and families through didactic and clinical experiences. This will be the first of two med-surg courses that will emphasize the key concept of clinical judgment and will include development of cue recognition and analysis. Content related to quality and safety, teaching-learning, therapeutic communication, inter-professional collaboration, and culturally competent nursing care will be developed to generate the best possible evidence-based patient-centered care solutions.
