Employment opportunities in geophysics:
Geophysics students at the University of Kentucky typically find employment as geoscientists. Students have begun careers with a variety of industry and governmental agencies. Examples include: IBM, Blackhawk Geophysical Services, Fairfield Industries, Canadian Geological Survey, FMSM Engineers, Exxon/Mobil, Kentucky Geological Survey, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Oregon Department of Geology and Mineral Industries, Kentucky Cabinet for Environmental Protection, and academia.
Funding opportunities:
For those that qualify, teaching and research assistantships are available.
