LIS 690-205: Policy Ethics in ICT - "This course will explore policy and ethics in ICT, from a macro-level review of the policy process and players, toward a micro-level analysis of various individual policy areas that have implications for information creation, processing, access, flow, and use. Students explore policy through themes such as privacy, intellectual property, social justice, free speech, artificial intelligence, and social media - as both creators and consumers - through the examination of the social, political, cultural, and economic contexts of the policies. The coursework and case studies will draw heavily from current/proposed policies federal/state policies, organizational policies, real-world events, and science fiction. This ICT policy course is open and applicable to information and communication professionals." (This section is open to MSLS students: ICT grads should take ICT690-205).
