LOCATION: via Internet. Full title: Topical Seminar in Social Work: Sport Social Work. This course advances the knowledge of students with an interest in athletics as it relates to their journey to effectively promote the safety and well-being of athletes, advocate for athlete rights, and ensure athletes receive the recognition and help needed to become strong global leaders. This course will cover (1) interprofessional collaboration with others in the athletic space, (2) health and well- being factors facing athletes, (3) sport social work theories, (4) strategies for engaging and assessing athlete needs from a systems perspective, and (6) the analysis and development of sport social work policy.
