This course is designed for geology majors currently taking calculus. Students will work through geologically relevant analytical problems that draw on the concepts and methods they are learning in their formal calculus courses. Basic problem-solving skills and techniques will also be developed. The course will provide applied, real-life perspectives to help students develop skills and understanding necessary for future success in the study of geology and related geological phenomena. Offered only on a pass/fail basis. May be repeated for a maximum of four credits. Concurrent registration in calculus (MA 113, 114, 213 or 214) is required.
