UK Libraries to Celebrate 'Nation of Nations' Time at UK

Former governor of Utah, 2012 presidential candidate and former U.S. Ambassador to China and Singapore Gov. Jon Huntsman will visit the University of Kentucky in late February.
The Department of Gender and Women's Studies will be hosting an interactive, virtual panel that will feature people who graduated with GWS degrees. The event will take place Monday, January 27, from 2-4 pm in the Hardymon Theater in the Marksbury Building on UK's campus.
UK chemistry professor Susan Odom's student, Corrine “Nina” Elliott, attended the 244th National Meeting of the American Chemical Society in Philadelphia as an 18-year-old high school student planning to attend UK in the fall.
The Spring 2013 WRD Writing Gallery is a showcase of student writing at the University of Kentucky. This installation features texts created in Writing, Rhetoric, and Digital Media courses during the past year. These texts include multimedia documentaries, photoessays, podcasts, websites, and other types of writing that students often create in their WRD classes.

For many, moving to a new place is part of the college experience - but at UK, students can take a class that connects them to many community organizations and civic institutions. Community 101 is a course designed to help incoming students get their bearings in Lexington, Kentucky. Guest lecturers come to class frequently, and students get to engage with the local organization of their choice for a final project.
