The iPad is an amazing piece of technology that can take us anywhere we want to go. But, aside from being a portal to the internet, game console, and personal music machine (iTunes – you’ve probably lost count of the songs you’ve downloaded), it also has applications that can be functional in the classroom.
Wordcast #3: Twitter
In Wordcast #3, WRD 110 students Tyler Davenport and Elizabeth Kunnecke discuss the role Twitter plays in their reading and writing habits. Tyler and Elizabeth took their WRD 110 in the A&S Wired program, where all students use iPads in their courses. Yet, as they talk about in this brief interview, social media like Twitter can be useful for thinking about writing in lots of different ways.
Keeneland Students Study for the Cure
Achmad Hidayatullah, Connor Appelman and Devon Wilson, three students from A&S Wired, are organizing an event to take place during Dead Week. All Keeneland Hall residents are encouraged to study between 3pm and midnight on December 4th and 8th, 2011, for "Study for the Cure," a study-a-thon fundraiser that will benefit the Kentucky Children's Hospital.
