How to edit basic pages

Instructions for editing and creating content in a basic page.

Steps:
1.

Log In

Log into the site using your link blue ID and password.

Go to the page that you want to edit

Go to the page that you want to edit, and click on the edit tab at the top of the page underneath the title.

Edit

Make any necessary edits in the title and the body of the page, using the basic text editor.

To hyperlink

To hyperlink something, highlight what you want linked and then click on the button that looks like a globe with a chain link under it, located at the top of the text editor. A "Link" box will come up. Where it says URL enter the URL into there.

To rearrange the side menu (the colored box)

First look at the title of the box (the darker part of the box) where you want to move the page to, then still in the edit tab scroll down to the end of the page and click on the tab that says “Book Outline.”

Where it says “Book” click the drop down and select the title of the side menu where you want to move that page.

To change the URL

To change the URL of the page. go to URL path settings in the menu at the bottom of the page.

Change URL

Change the url to what you want it to say by using whole words (leave out words such as a, the, it, is) and separate the words with hypens

Save

At the very bottom of the page make sure to hit the “Save” button, otherwise none of the changes will be applied to saved.

Alias Error

If you get this error: The path alias [path-alias] is already in use. You should provide a domain-specific alias.

Domain-specific paths

Simply scroll to the bottom of the page and click the tabs that says "domain-specific paths."

Check the box marked "Delete domain-specific aliases."

Then re-save the page
