Prereq: Admission to the College of Pharmacy.
This globally instructed and interactive course will be taught collaboratively and non-traditionally by the University of Kentucky and Peking University (Beijing, China). The course will compare pharmacy practice, health care systems, and various treatment modalities in China and the United States. Students will be challenged to understand and apply healthcare concepts within the context of different cultures and health-belief systems. Obstacles and barriers to care will be presented from the viewpoints of differing cultures, and students will work in cross-cultural teams using varied media to explore a range of course- related topics.
