Hello! I’m Claudia Benito and I’ll be a senior in political science and
anthropology during the 2023-2024 school year. I’m from Northern Kentucky and here
on campus, I am the Vice President of the Latino Student Union and a social media
preservation student assistant on the “Wildcat Histories” grant. I have experience as an
archives assistant in Special Collections, aiding in the writing of a grant proposal, and
as UK 101 peer mentor.

I chose UK because I love the versatility of Lexington and Central Kentucky. I
appreciate the moody weather and the character of the city. I have always had a great
admiration for the homey sentiment found here. Additionally, I value the size of UK’s
campus, as it provides niches tailored for each and every student. Regardless of
interests, there will certainly be a place for everyone!
