UK Physics & Astronomy, and the MacAdam Student Observatory, present Kentucky SkyTalk

This series of popular-level talks brings the wonder of scientific discovery to the central Kentucky Community. Some of UK’s leading researchers explain, in ways that are understandable to the general public, aspects of the world around us. Topics include how stars make energy, how we can measure what stars are made of, and how stars are formed. All talks are on the second Thursday of the month and are in the Chemistry-Physics Building. They are free and open to the public. Weather permitting, the talks will be followed by viewing at the University’s MacAdam Student Observatory.

The University of Kentucky 144th Commencement Ceremonies will be held May 8, 2011 at Rupp Arena.

The Graduate and Professional Commencement Ceremonywill be held in Rupp Arena at 9 a.m.

The Undergraduate Commencement Ceremonies will be held in Rupp Arena at 1 & 6 p.m.

1 p.m.: College of Agriculture, Gatton College of Business & Economics, College of Education, College of Engineering and College of Nursing

6 p.m.: College of Arts & Sciences, College of Communications & Information Studies, College of Design, College of Fine Arts, College of Health Science and College of Social Work
