UK ROTC Remembers 9/11 Victims

On Wednesday, Sept. 13, Eugenie C. Scott, a nationally recognized physical anthropologist and an expert on evolution and creationism, will deliver the preliminary address for the University of Kentucky College of Arts and Sciences’ series “Year of Civics and Citizenship in the 21st Century: Keys to our Common Future.”
The title of her lecture is “Evolution and Creationism in Kentucky.”
Attendees will have an opportunity to view art from students, faculty, and staff from UK and the greater community.
This lecture will highlight diversity and the importance of global perspectives.
This event will feature international field games and highlight some international ice cream flavors!!
With live music, dance, visual arts, and authentic cuisine, there is plenty to explore and enjoy over this two-day event.

Friday night is tropical night and will include authentic Latino foods, live music, and dancing. The festival is presented by Lexington Parks & Recreation and the Foundation for Latin American and Latino Culture and Arts.
This annual event is open to all UK students and faculty interested in learning more about education abroad opportunities available at the university. At the fair, students will be able to explore the multitude of program options, such as study, intern, research, service and tech abroad programs, plus domestic and international exchanges. Faculty, advisors, and program representatives will be available to speak about the global opportunities for different majors. In addition, representatives from other campus resources, such as the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships, James W. Stuckert Career Center, and Wildcat Passport Acceptance Facility, will be present at the fair to share their services that can assist students in the education abroad process.
From Florida to California, from Alabama to Maine, monuments to the Confederacy have been under increased scrutiny and the subject of efforts to either preserve them or remove them from the grounds they occupy.
