Advanced Comprehensive Dentistry

This course is designed to facilitate advanced comprehensive dental treatment on patients seeking complex esthetic and implant care in general practice. The use of a comprehensive analysis of a variety of problem based clinical situations are presented to encourage critical thinking in developing treatment plans and the predictability of treatment outcomes. Didactic exercises which aid in the development of clinical skills on patient data collection, treatment planning, and provisional restorations, and the most appropriate final prostheses will be discussed and researched.

Intro To Sports Dentistry

Introduction to Sports Dentistry is an elective course designed to educate about the opportunities available to become involved with sports teams in your community. The course topics will include: Types of dental injuries related to athletics, prevention of injuries, role of team dentist, types of sports guards and methods of fabrication of sports guards. Lecture: 10 hours; laboratory 6 hours, per course.

Service Management

A survey of the special characteristics, problems, and methods for managing service-oriented organizations. Students will learn principles of services and guest services management in order to see how they can be used in managing any service organization. The course also introduces quantitative techniques associated with managing organizations in the service sector. Upon completion of the course, the students will be able to apply the concepts to their work experiences.

Human Resource Management

Demonstrate knowledge of human resource management and its role in retail business including: employment, training, performance management, compensation, and providing a safe, ethical and fair environment. This course is a Graduation Composition and Communication Requirement (GCCR) course in certain programs, and hence is not likely to be eligible for automatic transfer credit to UK. Restricted to seniors and Hospitality Management and Tourism and Merchandising, Apparel and Textiles majors.

Students will learn valuable soft skills needed to thrive in the working world - specifically in industries within the Merchandising, Apparel & Textiles and the Hospitality Management & Tourism fields. Concepts are applicable in all professional settings. Class is set up to provide real world notions that are vital to professional success.
